Painting Acquired by Mississippi Museum of Art
I am excited to announce that this painting is now in the collection of the Mississippi Museum of Art. The American Academy of Arts and Letters helped make this possible, and it is especially meaningful because this painting was inspired by the swamp of the Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge in Mississippi, where I completed an artist's residency in 2014. Full circle!!!

SEEP at the Woskob Gallery
This arrangement of Swamp Shimmer is in the traveling show SEEP, now up at the Woskob Gallery at Penn State. The exhibition runs August 24 - September 30, 2017.
Opening reception: Thursday August 24, 2017 | 5 – 7 PM
Micaela Amateau Amato, Caetlynn Booth, Rob Carter, Ken Fandell, Bonnie Levinthal, Bethany Johnson, Giulia Piera Livi, Patrick McDonough, John Peña, Joseph Smolinski, and Jenna Spevack
SEEP presents the work of 11 contemporary artists who use water as medium, subject matter, or both. Each artist approaches water from a different angle, whether as a tool for art-making, a springboard for exploring issues of resource scarcity, or as a metaphor for unknowable terrain.
Private Commission
Last weekend, I installed a commissioned painting that I completed this year. The image comes from a study that I did back in 2012 while as an artist in residence at the Vermont Studio Center. It was a lot of fun to revisit this subject on a larger scale in oil paint!
American Academy Invitational Exhibition
I've been invited to show three paintings, including this Selvage Arrangement, in the American Academy of Arts and Letters Invitational this year.
